This painting, titled “Pine Trees of New Forest,” is a deeply personal interpretation of the beauty and tranquillity I experienced while exploring the New Forest. The rich, layered greens represent the towering pine trees that left such a strong impression on me, while the earthy browns and subtle hints of yellows and purples capture the way the sunlight filters through the dense foliage.
As I worked on this piece, I used vertical strokes to convey the sense of the tall, slender trunks that seemed to stretch endlessly toward the sky. The technique of layering and scraping the paint allowed me to bring out the textures and movement I felt in the forest, making the landscape feel almost alive.
This painting is more than just a representation of the New Forest; it’s a reflection of the peace and stillness I found there, and I hope it invites you to feel the same connection to this ancient, beautiful landscape.
