Metropolis

“Metropolis” is a reflection of my life in London, a city renowned for its beauty and rich history. However, beneath its iconic skyline and cultural landmarks lies a darker reality—one marked by crime, drugs, and human suffering. This painting is my attempt to capture that often unseen side of the city.

In “Metropolis,” I used a palette dominated by muted tones of black, brown, white, and gray to convey the starkness and intensity of urban life. The textured layers and abstract forms represent the complexity and sometimes chaotic nature of the city, where beauty and darkness coexist. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the duality of London—a place of grandeur and opportunity, yet also a city with shadows that tell a different story.

This painting invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and consider the underlying tensions that define life in a metropolis. It’s a tribute to the unseen aspects of city life, the stories that are often left untold, and the contrasts that make London such a compelling and enigmatic place.
