For thousands of years, Varanasi has stood as the most religious place for Hindus, a city steeped in spirituality and history. I fell in love with the vibrant colors and the deep, ancient significance of this holy place, which inspired me to capture a moment of its eternal spirit in my painting. The warm hues of red, orange, and gold represent the flames of the oil lamps against the backdrop of the sacred river, reflecting the divine energy and the timeless rituals that have been carried out for centuries. The textured strokes convey the rhythmic movements of the priests and the flickering of the lights, evoking the atmosphere of devotion and reverence that fills the air during the evening prayers. Through this painting, I aimed to encapsulate the essence of this sacred ceremony and the profound connection between the earthly and the divine.
