Varanasi, with its ancient ghats, has always held a special place in my heart. The ghats, each with its own unique history and story, are more than just steps leading into the sacred waters of the Ganges—they are witnesses to the countless rituals, prayers, and moments of profound spirituality that have taken place over millennia. I was inspired by the deep connection between the people and this sacred space, which is reflected in the vibrant and warm tones of my work.
I aimed to capture the mystical atmosphere of the ghats during the evening. The darker, deeper shades symbolize the quiet, introspective moments as dusk falls, while the bursts of light and color represent the flickering lamps and the life that continues to flow in this ancient city.
